I am exploring the illusory nature of memory and the human tendency to distort their perception by romanticizing and idealizing, or demonizing. An absence of something may have more impact and influence than a presence.

When light reacts to an object, it borrows the form but is not faithful to the true shape of it; a shadow can be larger than the object casting it, an object can refract light into many different colors. It is this that I plan to echo in my body of work. For this series I am creating installations in order for the pieces to inhabit a space and juxtapose that with the delicate visual weight of the transparent and translucent materials I've chosen.
